Counsel has extensive experience in broad range of litigation and jurisdictions for many Commonwealth Departments and Instrumentalities, including:

* Voyager Actions (i.e claims arising out of the Voyager/Melbourne collision on 10/02/64) between 1986 - 2000, including:

* Law of Estoppel resulting in leading High Court decision of Verwayen on common law estoppel in 1990.

* Causation and remoteness of damage , in particular psychiatric damage and it's sequelae resulting in leading psychiatric damage claim of Maclean in 1996/1997.

* Extensive litigation in respect of extension of limitation periods.

* Constitutional litigation as to acquisition of property on just terms.

* Extensive nation - wide mediation of Voyager cases in 1993 and 1995/6 which counsel conducted on behalf of the Commonwealth.

* National co-ordinator of Voyager litigation for Commonwealth for many years, which was very high profile/politically controversial litigation.

Extensive pre-bankruptcy and post-bankruptcy litigation and related advising work for both the Official Trustee in Bankruptcy and the Australian Taxation Office.

Solicitor for private trustee of bankrupt estate of Floyd Podgornik (deceased) a prominent Melbourne property developer in 1991/1993.

Major involvement in civil remedies action taken against promoters of tax schemes in mid 1980's including:

Federal and Supreme Court mareva injunction and administrative law litigation and extensive examinations of corporate and individual finacial information and monitoring and general supervision of management of income-producing assets worth millions of dollars subject to injuction in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Extensive tax recovery and SocialSecurity recovery litigation and associated advising work, including:

* Test cases involving millions of dollars against Transport Accident Commission and Victorian Workcover Authority for Cenrelink.

Administrative Law Litigation, including,

* Administrative Decisions(Judicial Review) Act litigation in respect of wide range of Commonwealth activities.

* Extensive Freedom of Information - related work, in particular 1999/2000, both as to matters of princple and procedure.

*Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal Litigation.

Immigration Litigation.

Construction Litigation, including,

* Contact arbitration in respect of conversation of HMAS Cererus to natural gas - sat for 100 days.

*Headquaters of SMHEA - contract dispute.

* Construction project contract advising work.

* Construction claims management work, in particular claims by AMECON pursuant to Australian Frigate Project contract.

*Extensive examinations of construction project finacial planning and management and general construction accounting.

International construction contracts dispute -related work.

OTHER LITIGATION

* Leader in Industrial Election work, including considerable appearance and associated advising work for Australian Electoral Commission.

* Extensive Coroner's inquest experience, including considerable appearance experience.

MEDIATION WORK

Extensive mediation training and participation, and experience in acting as mediator.

* Member of Albert Park Committee of Management from 1985 to 1991.

* Member of a number of committees of Law Institute of Victoria over a number of years.

* Active participant in Community Legal Service over a number of years.

* Involvement in high-level policy and budgetary discussions with the Victorian Minister for Sport and Recreation, and Officer for the Victorian Department of Sport and Recreation for 10 years.
