He is qualified in the Master of Laws subjects of International Trade Law and Investment including Trade Marks and has experience in contract and joint venture negotiation in China and in parts of the EU and the US. He speaks fluent German and is a Harvard Law School accredited mediator.
He has an interest in comparative law and studied at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Law (Hamburg) after receiving the Butterworths' Book Prize in Comparative Law at the University of Melbourne. He occasionally lectures in Comparative Corporate Law.
He specialises in commercial law litigation and has a practical background in the law of contracts both locally and overseas concerning negotiation, tendering and enforcement of agreements or their avoidance on statutory or equitable grounds.
Apart from general commercial practice, he appears predominantly in commercial matters involving joint venture agreements concerning real estate property developments and loan security documents.
