Completed Articled Clerk's Course at Melbourne University in 1966, having been articled to a city law firm for five years.
Admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria on 1 March 1967.
From 1969 until signing the Bar Roll in May 1991 he practised as a principal partner, as a Solicitor , for more than twenty years.
Main areas of practice as a Solicitor was Family Law, General Litigation, Conveyancing and White Collar Crime. In the 1970's and 1980's instructed in several large Criminal matters, and in numerous Family Law matters both as to children's issues and settlement of property.
At the Victorian Bar, Counsel has practised in the Family Court, Magistrates' Court. Generally including Civil, Crime and Particularly Crimes Family Violence matters and in De Facto relationship matters in both County and Supreme Courts. Counsel has also practised at VCAT in all the various Tribunals.
In the areas in which Counsel practises he has also assisted in circuit work. Whilst appearing from time to time at VCAT he would like to become even more involved in all areas of Tribunal work.
Counsel is an accrediated Mediator and has been involved in many mediations predominately in Family Law matters, both as a Mediator and Counsel for one of the parties.
Mediation practice has extended to De Facto relationships and he would like to become even more involved in Mediation Practice.
